Malaysia’s Left Winger Shahrel Fikri Still Grateful despite Vietnam Taking the Suzuki Cup Win

The 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup has finally hailed its winner last Saturday, December 15 with a 3-2 win on aggregate over Malaysia. Vietnam has taken home the Suzuki Cup thanks to heavy hitters of the night Dang Van Lam and Nguyen Tron Hoang among others. Malaysia lands the first runner-up of the cup with left winger Shahrel Fikri sharing some humble and grateful words of gratitude towards his fans.

The 24-year-old Malaysia entered the second leg as a substitute for Akram Mahinan late in the game who took part in six out of the eight Suzuki Cup games. Fikri spent the previous season on loan at Thai League Nakhon Ratchasima FC. The Malaysian left winger expressed his special message of thanks to his fans on social media.

He tweeted last December 16, a humbling message regarding his experience playing in the biggest cup of his career, while sharing his sincerest gratitude towards the people who have shown support in his journey. The 24-year-old footballer of the Malaysian Tigers will be back in the field for Perak TBG in the Malaysian Super League in the upcoming season.
