Manchester United has been making quite the noise recently with two bold moves on their part by letting Jose Mourinho go as manager and adding more defense to the team right after his departure. Ole Gunner will be stepping in from Old Trafford on an interim basis, just until next summer when a new manager will be decided on.
The 55-year-old Portuguese found out about the club’s big sanction just a few hours after he was let go. Manchester United plans to sign Juventus’ winger Douglas Costa and even take on finding a new center half for the team. Costa did sign a £36 million deal from Bayern Munich, but the 28-year-old Brazilian has been docked down in Juventus’ pecking order, ever since the team signed Cristiano Ronaldo last summer for £100million.
Jose Mourinho has been whining for a long time on the need for United to invest on a great defender with superb skill and quality. United and Mourinho did share the same sentiment as the club wanted to strengthen their attacking options with a specific player like Costa.
United did admit to The Sun that it is a huge possibility that they will be able to equally prioritize getting a centre-half and forward come January. United is willing to stretch their budget as they take on Costa and plausibly Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
