Leicester’s finest Harry Maguire has expressed his utmost admiration for his 32-year-old teammate Jamie Vardy who exhibited quite the top level performance since the season began. Despite recently stepping into his thirties, Vardy still poses superb speed which has Leicester’s manager Brendan Rodgers committed to the kind of playing style best suited to the player.
Vardy scored two clinical finishes in a match against Fulham, in the 2016 Community Shield and instead of lingering on a supposed 99, the 32-year-old was able to attain 100 at a stroke. The Leicester striker has accumulated 74 goals since 2014 in the Premier League alone, with only Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, and Romelu Lukaku having more in that period.
He was recruited from Fleetwood Town back 7 years ago where Leicester paid the team £1million in 2012, turning out to be one of the best deals ever made by the team to this date. Maguire is left aghast by Vardy’s consistency throughout the years and throughout his stake, this past season saying, “With the way he runs at the moment he can keep going for years. He has lost no pace and is as sharp as ever. His finishing is remarkable. One on one you would back him every time. If he looks after himself he will keep going and scoring goals.” Maguire adds.
