Goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford finally agrees to renew his contract with Everton. The 24-year-old English footballer will be with Everton for six years making his stay on a long-term basis. The whole summer was all about discussions and negotiations between Everton chairman and Bill Kenwright with regards to Pickford’s salary, estimated to £4million annually.
Although Everton’s performance was quite unpredictable during Pickford’s first season, his playing dynamic was utmost consistent. This type of performance got the Everton goalkeeper to start between posts at the World Cup.
Rumors circulated that Pickford was to consider Chelsea but the player counters with a statement expressing his desire to grow his career in Goodison Park.
“Coming to Everton, a massive club with a massive history and seeing how passionate and determined the fans are, it’s inspired me to perform week in and week out and it’s moved my career on, without question.
I want to play as many games as I can for the Club, that’s my goal now. Hopefully, I can continue to progress, become a better goalkeeper each and every day and keep that England No. 1 shirt as well. That’s another aim.” Pickford adds.
