England Under Pressure from Fans and Supporters to Finish World Cup in Style by Winning 3rd Place

A certain amount of pressure has suddenly been placed on England’s manager Gareth Southgate and his boys to not only win the third-place qualifier against Belgium but to flourish throughout it all.

Despite the third-place playoff being seen as “utter stupidity” and with “no significance” by former England manager Terry Venables and former skipper Alan Shearer, Southgate is expected to finish strong and with style.

“It is a World Cup showpiece and we must win, as always with England,” Venables adds.

Sportsmail fellow and former England defender, Martin Keown say “Now the target must be to finish third. If you want to breed a winning mentality, you cannot settle for fourth place. This feels like a new beginning and this is a perfect chance to end the tournament on high.”

Aside from Harry Kane being the tournament’s top scorer, Jordan Pickford hopes to win the Golden Glove for best goalkeeper. “We want to finish a great tournament on a high. We can’t finish the best team in the world but we can still be the third best.” Pickford adds.
