Carlos Vinicius Tops Portuguese League Scoring Charts Looping in a £35m Move to Manchester United

Carlos Vinicius, the young 25-year-old striker for Benfica has made 33 appearances, and 20 goals for the Lisboan club. With his impressive performance in the last season, it’s no surprise that other big clubs are setting their sights on the player. Manchester United and Liverpool from the Premier League have been courting the Brazilian footballer since he managed to place as the top scorer at Primeira Liga.

Vinicius’ contract with Benfica expires on 2024 but gas a whopping £88 million release clause from Napoli.  The Brazilian star joined Napoli for £15 million last summer and has since proven his capacity on the field, gaining the attention of the football industry as a whole. However, the move does pose a threat due to the notorious Coronavirus pandemic, which means Benfica will unlikely to get their asking price.

The Red Devils apparently aren’t shy of trying to poach the player with an offer of £35m Benfica’s golden boy, The Sun reports. United’s manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is determined to get Vinicius signed in order to complete his plans in rebuilding United for a chance at the Premier League title next season.
