Atletico Madrid Vies for Diego Costa’s Recovery for Champions League Match against Juventus

A significant foot injury Diego Costa gained has the player in rehabilitation which is bound to get more intense in the next couple of days. This is a few days prior to Atletico Madrid’s Champions League clash with Juventus come February 20.

The 30-year-old Brazil native is bound to get surgery for his foot which he has actually struggled with all throughout the season. His teammates and coaches do stand firm with him and believe the Brazilian footballer will make it through the surgery and in time for a comeback on February.

“Costa has entered the second phase of his recovery after returning from Brazil, where he underwent an operation on his left foot on December 5, ‘Our striker is making progress in his rehabilitation and sport readaptation process. Apart from the daily physiotherapy and aerobic training on a stationary bicycle, a specific swimming pool routine is to be added shortly.” The club’s official statement reveals.

Enriquez Cerezo, the president of Atletico Madrid praised Costa’s impact and role in the club which also paved a way for more useful details regarding the player’s length of recovery in time for the big games.

Atletico Madrid is set to go head to head with Juventus on the 20th of February, but Costa may only make an appearance when he returns to Turin on March 12.
