Sergio Ramos Wants Nothing to Do with Real Madrid Anymore

The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez reportedly blames Sergio Ramos for the Los Blancos loss against Ajax back in the Champions League match last March. Zinedine Zidane’s side went home with a 1-4 loss against Erik ten Hag’s Dutch team. The 33-year-old Spanish defender is fed up with being Perez’ punching bag in the media, continuously blaming him for the team’s exit from the Champions League 2 months back.

Zidane’s squad has won the previous three Champions League tournaments which takes a huge toll on Perez. During the second leg of the match against Ajax, Ramos was absent due to a suspension having picked up a booking in the closing stages of the first leg on purpose, according to Daily Mail.

The UEFA gave Ramos additional suspension that will continue into the next season’s group stage even after the Ajax loss. Inside sources claim that Perez and Ramos were having a heated exchange in the dressing room post-match and says that Perez may have said some things to launch quite the feud between the president and the player.

Speaking to press and several news publications like ‘El Transistor’ on Onda Cero on Monday night, Ramos and his agent and shared their sentiments on the alleged feud, ‘What was I going to tell him? We said this couldn’t happen but we’d speak to the club to satisfy him but that Real Madrid could not afford to let its captain leave for free as that would set a terrible precedent for other players.’ Ramos says.
