Loris Karius Set to Make a Return on June with a Severance Deal with Besiktas at £400,000

Liverpool’s forgotten goalkeeper, Loris Karius has been shunned from the football community for his faulty gameplay at Kiev in the 2018 Champions League Final. Fast forward to April 2020 and the 26-year-old is officially returning to Anfield come June 30th. The German footballer made a move to Turkey in 2018 but has had a horrible time at Liverpool, which followed him for the last two years.

Besiktas signed a loan for the player when he joined in 2018 at £10 million if he finished two years with the team. As a few may have assumed, his stay did not go so well and on par to Besiktas’ plan. Mutual cancelation has been talked about by both parties, with Besiktas paying Karius £400,000 in outstanding salary, which will allow him to leave for Anfield.

In terms of life in the Premier League, Karius has been signed on loan for a summer in Merseyside. The goalkeeper is technically under contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers until 2022, however, the looks of Karius getting some playtime could be a stretch as he will probably be Rui Patricio’s understudy as the team competes in four matches next term.
