Malaysia 0-1 Loss against Vietnam sets team off their game at World Cup Qualifiers

The World Cup qualifiers have certainly launched the ber-months into an exciting start. The qualifier has brought Malaysia’s confidence at a toll with Vietnam edging them off in their second match in the most important stage of the competition. The 1-0 score was prompted by Safawi Rasid’s penalty move where he delivered an in-swing corner kick which left Dang Van Lam, Vietnam’s goalkeeping stranded inside the penalty box.

However, during the first minute, Malaysia managed to lead the game thanks to midfielder Syafiq Ahmad. This then gave Ali Mabhokout the chance to prove his topnotch credential as one of Asia’s best strikers and brought victory to Vietnam as he scored two goals against Malaysia. The 29-year-old Emirati footballer managed to score in the 45th and 74th minute of the match and is considered to be the second joint top scorer for UAE with a whopping 51 goals in his record. Malaysia’s initial game was led with a victory 3-2 against Indonesia in Jakarta last September 5th.
