Lyon’s Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is a Step Away from Signing with Tottenham

The prized player of Ligue 1 has been taken notice of and is one step closer to signing with Tottenham, 22-year-old Tanguy Ndombele is could be the next big transfer for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Tottenham’s offer to the French footballer was a club-record deal worth up to £64million, £55 million plus £9 million more in possible add-ons for Ndombele to join Pochettino’s team in the coming season.

The price isn’t set in stone and can still increase especially since Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon’s president warned Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman last week if the north London club continued to drag their feet. Tottenham’s big boss is very much keen on upping his team’s game this summer, and Mauricio Pochettino believes the first step is to get Ndombele to come over.

Ndombele has been compared to Chelsea’s Michael Essien who also came from Lyon and has quite the potential to make it big in the Premier League. Aside from the French footballer, David Sanchez was also another record-breaking procurement from Ajax for £42 million back in 2017. As the new season nears, Tottenham also has had its eye on teenage winger Jack Clarke in a whopping £11.5 million.
