Liverpool hosts Leicester City at Anfield to try and grab the top spot of the Premier League. The Reds is hungry for a win as their duel with Manchester City ended in a draw. Meanwhile, Leicester will try to extend their winning streak to 4 by beating the League champions.
Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp is preparing for their bout with the Foxes with some key players missing. As mentioned in one statement, he said “Leicester is Leicester. They are really good.” He added that, “Brendan is a top coach. They play some good football to be honest.” With that, Klopp makes sure a good game would be played in the next match.
The little problems however, defender Virgil van Dijk is set to miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury which he sustained in their match against Everton. Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who sustained a calf injury in their latest match against Manchester City.
Midfielder Fabinho is also questionable due to a recurring thigh problem that made him miss two of Premier League games. Adding to the list of injuries is defender Joe Gomez who was injured while on duty in England. With the a few star players injured, we must see what would happen next for Liverpool.
On the other side… Fresh from their win against Wolverhampton, Leicester City started out strong by winning 6 out of the first 8 games of the Premier League season. Team manager Brendan Rodgers said that continues to admire his squad “day by day.”
Foxes’ star Jamie Vardy, who won the last season’s Golden Boot, looks to lead his team to another Premier League championship since 2016. At the age of 33, the Leicester star shows no signs of slowing down. This amazing guy must be on the radar of the opposing team, so we will see how the next game will go.
