Erik ten Hag Confirms Andre Onana’s Possible Departure

Ajax’ manager, Erik ten Hag has recently confirmed that his goalkeeper, Andre Onana will be up for a trade but only ‘at the right price’ this summer. The 24-year-old has been with Ajax since the 2018-2019 season where he transferred from Barcelona academy who made a fantastic play during the Champions League semi-finals of the same season.

Chelsea has also shown keen interest in the football star and is in the same line of consideration with Kepa Arrizabalaga from Barcelona. However, ten Hag isn’t bound to let go so easily expressing the vital role Onana plays for Ajax. “Of course we don’t want to lose him, but it’s true that we have an agreement from last year about the development scenario and what steps we will take if the right club comes in at the right price.” ten Hag says.

Onana’s contract has kept him with Ajax until 2022 which was a go at a whopping £25million as the goalkeeper of the Dutch power team. He made 178 appearances for the Amsterdam side and has been reportedly poached by Catalan’s La Masia academy. With an impressive first-team reputation at just 24-years-old, Onana’s breakthrough during the 2016-2017 season showed the world this football player’s potential.
