Clutch City: Bruno Fernandes Signed by Real Madrid on Deadline Day

A whopping and jaw-dropping last-minute deal between Real Madrid and Sporting Lisbon Bruno Fernandes who scored £64million, his asking price for a transfer to the Spanish super club. Zinedine Zidane has been keen on looking for an attacking midfielder for a while now. He initially had fireproof plans of signing Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek, but ended up signing 24-year-old Portuguese footballer.

There’s a huge sense of belief in the young talent, with a profile sheet of having scored 32 goals, and more than 18 assists for Sporting CP last season. However, it wasn’t just Real Madrid who showed explicit interest, other clubs who showed interest included Manchester United and Tottenham, which Fernandes initially agreed with Tottenham till the deal fell through on its own eventually.

The new season has been good for Fernandes, with 2 stellar goals and assists, and further 18 times for his teammates in the previous season. Despite the impressive demeanor, fans of Real are bound to expect “one or two bombs” on deadline day, implying other possible talents could do more for Fernandes through the doors at the Bernabeu.
