Vietnam’s renowned coach who was responsible for Vietnam’s 2018 AFC Championship against Uzbekistan just announced his decision to renew his contract with the Vietnam team. The 60-year-old South Korean tactician has agreed to extend his contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). His current contract with the team was set to expire come January 2020, with the new contract having been delayed for months now.
The VFF has recently put an end to the long wait and confirmed that Park agreed to stay with the victorious team. A spokesperson from VFF said in a statement, “This can be considered good news for Vietnamese football fans as well as an appreciation and recognition for the great contributions of coach Park Hang-seo since taking charge of Vietnam.”
Fans will have to wait till the 7th of November for the official announcement of Park Hang-seo and the VFF. The South Korean coach has made an impact on Vietnamese football and has done beyond getting the national team of Vietnam to the championships of the AFC U23 and the 2018 Asian Games semifinals.
The senior national team also made to their second official AFF Suzuki Cup victory last year and then made it to the quarterfinals of the AFC Asian Cup this year in the UAE. The team is currently training hard for the upcoming 2019 SEA Games as well as the 2020 AFC U23 Championship in Thailand next year.
