As everyone knows, the 2020-2021 English Premier League (EPL) season kicked-off this September. It has been three days since the season’s Opening Days and here are the results of the two games that happened last fourteenth of Sept, Monday.
2 goals by Wolves and 0 at Sheffield United
At September 14, the Wolverhampton Wanderers FC is set to battle with Sheffield United F.C. Sheffield United crawled to the bench as Wolves barked its two points for this game.
Wolverhampton came out victorious by downing Sheffield United 2-0. Early goals from Raul Jimenez (3’) and Romain Saiss (6’) proved to be enough for their first 3 points of the season.
The lead could have been larger but excellent defense of Blades’ goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale prevented it from happening.
Sheffield played well in the second half as attacks by John Fleck and Billy Sharp broke through the defense but were never converted to a goal. The Blades never recovered as the final whistle blew.
3 goals by Chelsea and 1 for Brighton
Kicking off last fourteenth, too, was Chelsea F.C. and Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. Chelsea won the ball higher by two, leaving Brighton short who needs to warm up more.
It was an intense game as Chelsea sunk Brighton & Hove Albion with 3-1 victory at the AMEX Stadium last Monday. With Chelsea scoring a penalty from Jorginho (23’), it resulted from a foul by Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan.
Leandro Trossard scored a goal (54’) for Brighton in the second-half to even the game at 1-1, but the Blues retake the lead two minutes after as Reece James sent a strike from 25-yard mark.
Brighton had another chance to even the score, but Lewis Dunk failed to capitalize on the header. Kurt Zouma sealed the deal for Chelsea as he scored with a goal (66’) which was a deflection from Ryan Webster.
Facing the 2020 EPL champions Liverpool on Sunday, indeed, this will be an exciting football tournament!
