Malaysia’s Mika Chunuonsee Is Not Stopping at Bukit Jalil and Aims to finish their Job at Rajamangala

The 29-year-old Thai-Welsh player has confessed that the draw between Thailand and Malaysia is the first, but the second leg of the Suzuki Cup semifinal will be different at the Rajamangala Stadium.

The semi-final match between Thailand and Malaysia came to an end with no goals last Saturday, leaving Hairmau Malaya taking the lead in the game. The attacking tactics and full on dynamic of the Malaysian team definitely took a toll on the game as a whole.

Chunuonsee told Fox Sports Asia “The game plan was to defend and play on the counter-attack because we knew they were going to come out all guns blazing and attack us all the way. We stuck to our plan to keep it compact but unlucky for us; our counter wasn’t on point in the first leg,”

Even if the War Elephants have become crowd favorites, they have not yet made an initial breakthrough in the tournament as a whole. Mika adds “The game plan was to defend and play on the counter-attack because we knew they were going to come out all guns blazing and attack us all the way. We stuck to our plan to keep it compact but unlucky for us; our counter wasn’t on point in the first leg.”

Whoever wins in Rajamangala will be facing the Philippines or Vietnam in the finals. The coach of Malaysia, Tan Cheng Hoe has high hopes that his boys win their second title from their first one 8 years ago. Thailand is also in the pursuit of trying to gain their sixth Suzuki Cup title and third successive championship title in the process.
